An old bug which has probably been fixed now, where you would log into DDO and somehow land outside the city walls rather than landing where you last logged off. I bring you this short movie. It explains my experience of being stuck outside.

Hugely influenced by a flash called "The Yuyu" by Adam Phillips. I recommend checking it out, the man is inhuman with flash.

There's not a lot to see outside Stormreach... you keep running, hit a wall, change direction, and run some more until you hit the next one.
