Xzantor T’orr Xzantor was born into a life of hardship and slaughter. His family lived in a small hut in the dark, filthy back alleys of Despval; forced to kill and steal for a living after Xzantors father was outcast following a horrific murder that was traced to him. Growing up, Xzantor came to hate his father and the horrors and danger that he brought into his family through the lifestyle he led. Xzantor tried to put his father’s activities to the back of his mind, but his anger and hatred grew as he found that he was frequently shunned and dismissed by the other inhabitants of Despval due to his family name. Unable to control his anger any longer, but unwilling to take this out on his family, Xzantor left in the dead of night, and began to walk. After four years of travelling, Xzantor reached a monastery and asked if he might stay a while to rest. Whilst he was there, Xzantor learnt of the gods that watched over and protected his people. Moved by his newfound faith, Xzantor decided to stay at the monastery, where he began training to be a cleric. Ten years of intensive training and many tests of faith later, Xzantor was ordained. His renewed faith and the feeling of peace that his time at the monastery had given him told Xzantor that it was time to put the past behind him and return home. And so once again he began walking. Xzantor knew that he could not remain at home permanently, but before he ventured out into the world of Xen’drik, he needed to make peace with his family. After another four years of travelling, Xzantor returned to the village of Despval. At the age of 98, eighteen years older than when he had departed and covered in scars from his journeys, Xzantor was hardly recognisable to his family and friends. Once home, Xzantor spent time with his family, learning to live with them again and putting to rest the demons that surrounded their past. Whilst in Despval, Xzantor also found an old family friend who had strayed from her wealthy upbringing whilst he had been gone. After a couple of years with his family, Xzantor knew it was time to move on once again. Having persuaded his friend Seras to make a new start for herself elsewhere, the pair set off on a journey that would bring them excitement and danger, enemies and new friends. |
